Zeb, my 9year old son (he's the one on the right in the photo), was diagnosed with Type1 Diabetes last September. As you would expect this was a huge blow to us all as a family but especially to Zeb. So instead of sitting around I've decided to lead by example and get out and do some fund-raising for Diabetes UK.
Ben Nevis is Britain's highest peak so I thought 'if you're going to do a challenge - start with a big one here in the UK'. It's up and down in a day ! Around 8 hours of walking...........eek !
Since battling throat cancer myself 10 years ago let's say my fitness levels are pretty average so this'll really test my own abilities.
Whatever you can afford to donate will be greatly appreciated by myself, Zeb and Diabetes UK.
Did you know in the UK one person is diagnosed with diabetes every three minutes and three people die from its complications every hour. It doesn't have to be like this..your donations will help Diabetes UK change this.
I'll be doing the climb on Saturday 15th May.
Many Thanks,
Tim & Zeb
