Diabetes UK

On 31st October 2010 I will be taking part in the Athens Classic Marathon, which this year celebrates the 2500th Anniversary of the Battle of Marathon and the historic run made by a messenger named Pheidippides who ran from Marathon to Athens to announce the victory, then collapsed and died. Out of that legend, the marathon race was born. The Athens Classic Marathon follows the very same route from the Village of Marathon to the City of Athens.
However my historic journey starts long before that day, with many weeks of training and various different 'warm up' races all of which I am doing to raise awareness for Diabetes UK, because as many of you know my Father has lived with Diabetes now for a large part of his life and Diabetes UK does so much to help people just like him.
My Events are:
Sunday 12th September  - Cardiff 10k

Saturday 25th September - The Wales Sportive 40 mile bike race (Tenby)

Sunday 26th September - The Wales Half Marathon (Tenby)

Sunday 17th October - The Cardiff Half Marathon

then the BIG ONE

Sunday 31st October- The Athens Classic Marathon.

I know when I did the London Marathon in April I said I wouldn't be asking you for sponsorship again for a while But some people have already expressed a desire to sponsor me, I am not setting a target, nor will I be hassling people for sponsorship. However if you feel all the effort I am putting is worth a few pound to a brilliant cause then please donate as much as you can.
