Completed the swim 12/13th August in a time of 14 hours 38 minutes ....what a feeling !!
Ever since I was a young boy I have wanted to swim the Channel in one way or another, I have also wanted to run the London Marathon for a number of years.
I have now completed the London Marathon in a time of 4:43:42 and am now training for the Diabetes UK cross channel relay in August 2010.
After training hard for the 2009 London Marathon I had to pull out with only two weeks to go, as I was unable to shake off a calf injury. This year I was really pleased and proud to get across the line injury free and in a respectable time for an old man!
For the Channel Swim I will be in a team of 6, each taking 1 hour stints in the cold, dirty, water dodging ferries, tankers and all manner of flotsam and jetsam as we make our way to France. This will take place some time between the 9th and 16th August 2010 (the precise date depends on the conditions in the Channel that week).
Jane (my wife) thinks I'm having some sort of mid life crisis. I keep reminding her that this is better than fast cars and chasing younger women!!
Thanks to everybody who has supprted me do far....just the matter of a small swim to go!
All the best and thanks in advance....
Paul
