After 8 months of training, our event started on the shores of Shakespeare Harbour, Dover at 10.45pm on the 12th August 2010 under a meteor shower. It finished over 15 hours later on a beach in Cap Griz Nez in the French sunshine on Friday 13th August. 17 swimmers in three teams made the trip, experiencing some amazing highs and lows along the way. All are in agreement that it was a fantastic adventure and we would like to thank you for supporting us and Diabetes UK.
Thanks to those who also donated off line to the effect of £180. Thanks also to my family who donated money towards the costs of the fundraising BBQ. In all, this challenge raised £1,359.00 for Diabetes UK.
