Myself and a group of colleagues have set ourselves a marathon task - literally - of walking 26.2 miles along the picturesque but challenging East Coast of Fife on Saturday 17th September.
Starting in Earlsferry, we'll tackle tides and rough terrain whilst taking in the sights of St Monans, Pittenweem, Anstruther (pit-stop at the legendary chippie!), Crail and Kingsbarns before collapsing in a heap at the finish line of St Andrews.
The terrain varies from rough to remote, and coupled with the unpredictable Scottish weather, we'll probably need more than a dram to keep us going!
I'm using this as a opportunity to raise a bit of cash for Diabetes UK, as it's a cause that is very important to myself and my family. Diabetes UK is the largest organisation in the UK working for people with diabetes, funding research, campaigning and helping people live with the condition. Their mission is to improve the lives of people with the condition and work towards a future without diabetes.
If you could donate anything at all it would be very much appreciated - and will keep me going when all I want to do is run and hide in the nearest pub!
Thank you.
