The 5K a day challenge!
I should start by saying that I'm not a very active or athletic person generally, but Diabetes is a cause very close to my heart. This is the first time that I've attempted to set myself a challenge of this nature, and I hope the outcome is:
i) raising funds
ii) raising awareness-particularly in the Asian community, about diabetes and its associated problems.
The challenge is for me to run, walk or row 5 km everyday between the 15th of April-15th May. For the most part, the challenge will take place indoors (Expressions- Pyramids Leisure Centre Exeter) to avoid missing out because of the weather or other excuses.
I hope to raise £1 for every kilometer. The raised funds go to Diabetes UK, a charitable organization that helps people with diabetes in so many ways.
I will keep you all posted with a picture of the day's chosen activity at the end of the 5 kilometers!
Diabetes affects nearly all of us, directly or indirectly, and I thank all of you who come forward to help and donate for this cause. I also hope this gives some of you the opportunity to look through the Diabetes UK website for more information on Diabetes.
Your interest and kind donations are highly appreciated!
Remember- 15th April to 15th May!
