As many of you know, three years ago I took on the huge challenge of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro (5,895m) in Africa to raise a huge amount of money for Diabetes UK. This is a very very worthy charity, which does vital research to improve the lives of people living with diabetes and works towards a future without diabetes.
Now at the age of 23, I am intending on going higher and raising even more money for this charity, which is so close to my heart, having had Type 1 Diabetes for the last 13 years of my life. I am embarking on my next challenge, in July, climbing Stok Kangri, an Indian Himalayan Peak standing at a height of 6,114m and over 20,000 ft. Not only will this involve a greater time at a higher altitude where the air pressure is about half of that at sea level, but will be demanding both mentally and physically in addition to maintaining adequate blood sugar levels throughout the expedition.
I am aware that over the last few years there has been a huge demand from many well deserving causes and times are hard at the moment but if you could spare anything and sponsor me, no matter how small the amount, I will be extremely grateful and it will make the challenge all worthwhile. Just like the my Kilimanjaro challenge, I have paid for the full cost of the expedition upfront so all of the money raised through sponsorship will go directly to the charity and helping the 2.5million people diagnosed with diabetes in the UK alone.
I want to thank you in advance for your generosity and thank you for helping me to reach my target amount. Donating on here is fast and easy, with all of the money going directly to Diabetes UK rather than paying admin charges to just giving etc. Do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or would prefer to give me the money directly. I will be around with a sponsor form.
