Hi - thanks so much for visiting my fundraising page - I really do appreciate your support!
I am running the Brighton Marathon on 18th April in support of Diabetes UK.
In 2003, my sister was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes which has had a significant impact on her life.
There are 2.5 million people diagnosed with diabetes in the UK and an estimated 500,000 people in the UK who have diabetes but do not know it.
Diabetes UK seeks to improve the lives of people with diabetes and is one of the largest funders of diabetes research in the UK, aiming to spend around £8 million a year on developing better treatment, preventing diabetes and finding a cure.
Diabetes UK receives no government funding and relies totally on voluntary donations.
Hopefully therefore you can support me in my marathon challenge!
Eighteen months ago I was very much a non-runner but I started running in an attempt to keep fit. Then about six months ago I set myself the challenge of running the Brighton marathon. What a challenge this has become! Three months ago I began running four days a week and I am now covering about 35 miles a week. Any money you can give will help spur me on in my training and will of course be gratefully received by Diabetes UK.
Thanks again for visiting my page and please give me your money!
