Nearly a year ago I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 11 and it was only a couple of weeks into my first term at 'big' school - like I didn't have enough to deal with!! I quickly learnt that this condition isn't easy to live with but I refuse to let it take over my life. It isn't just a case of injecting insulin and you will be ok, there are so many other factors that just make things so tricky.
My family and friends have been very supportive and all the messages of love and support have got me through this year. I raised £66 in The Big Bike Ride, £60 from the speeches sweepstake at my Uncle and Aunt's wedding but this is the one I really want to raise even more in. I want to raise money to aid research for a cure and a prevention and also for my family members and friends who have diabetes too. So, please ask anyone and everyone as the pennies soon add up & ask your employers as companies can sponser me aswell.
Mum, Dad & my Bro are going to join me too and race to see who can do the first mile!!! But we all know its' going to be me!!!!! Uh-oh, Dad just threatened to wear his speedo's .....he said once we hit £200 he will stop wearing them!! So, please, for my sanity donate your pennies.......!!
