Mobility Scooter

Mobility scooters are 3-wheeled and 4-wheeled battery operated transport devices that can be used on street pavements and also on quiet roads. They offer an extremely convenient way for people with mobility difficulties to get out and about, or to pop down to the local shops.

Good quality mobility scooters are designed for ease of use. Most have comfortable padded seating as well as sturdy arm rests to help you climb in and out of the seat. Steering and speed are controlled from well-positioned handlebars, and all scooters have a basket or storage compartment available to stow your shopping.

The forward speed of a mobility scooter is typically in the range of 4 mph to 8 mph, and many can travel up to a distance of 20 miles with a fully charged battery. The battery itself is often enclosed within the scooter bodywork and is easily charged using a mains adapter.

There are a diverse range of mobility scooters available, from lightweight systems that are easily dismantled for storage to heavy-duty mobility scooters equipped for road use. The more sophisticated mobility scooters have additional features such as automatic gearing and incline detection.
